The word ‘Safari’ means ‘Journey’ in Swahili. In this spectacular bush adventure, we take in the glorious selection of flora, fauna, bird life, awe inspiring vistas, and wildlife encounters of the most enthralling kind. All this with daily yoga.
We meet the sights, the sounds and smells of Africa at Lake Manyara , a fusion of lakeside tranquility, towering volcanic splendor and views of the Great Rift Valley! Our first game drive.
Early morning game drives, hearty breakfasts, naps, yoga, lunch! We visit local villages, hike the African plains, visit the Cradle of Mankind and on some days, take another game drive before dinner.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the seven wonders of the world! Our Serena Safari Lodge hovers on the rim of the crater with awe inspiring vistas. We tour to the crater floor, with its abundance of wildlife and unrivalled photographic opportunities! We dine from sumptuously laden tables, under the spectacular African sunset skies.

Yoga Safari to Tanzania Itinerary:
May 10th:We arrive at Kilimanjaro airport at about 8.30 pm. We will be met by our local guide at the airport and overnight at the beautiful Mountain Serena Village.
May 11th: We wake to African skies! After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park arriving at the Lodge for lunch. We’ll spend the afternoon settling in, exploring the terrain, and doing some welcome yoga! The ambiance of the Lodge is a fusion of lakeside tranquility, towering volcanic splendor and views of the Great Rift Valley! Then off on our first game drive in our four wheel drive Land Rovers! Fabulous dinner at the lodge.
May 12th: Early morning game drive, a hearty breakfast, a nap, some yoga, lunch!
We visit the village school, and take another game drive before dinner. This park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and over 350 species of birds.
May 13th: After our morning game drive we transfer to the superb Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge which hovers on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater like a natural rock formation. We adventure to the crater floor, with its abundance of wildlife and unrivalled photographic opportunities! We dine under the spectacular African sunset skies.
May 14th: After an early breakfast we depart for a game drive into the crater, which is one of the most beautiful wildlife havens left on earth. The Maasai and their cattle co-exist with the wildlife in this area, and we witness this ancient interplay between wildlife and people. After lunch we will visit the Maasai village itself!
May 15th: After breakfast, we drive to the Olduvai Gorge, also known as the “Cradle of Mankind”, an enormously interesting archeological site in The Great Rift Valley. We continue to our next lodgings, The Mbuzi Mawe tented camp at the epicenter of the Serengeti. Now we are really in the wilderness! This camp is luxury and comfort in the wild. With yoga, lunch we begin three days exploring first hand the area made famous by National Geographic.
May 16th: A full day to enjoy this spectacular terrain, with game drives, walks, yoga and sumptuous meals. The clear night skies, the sounds of the wild, fireside eating and our own traveler’s tales.
May 17th: We transfer to the Serengeti Serena Lodge to further enjoy this area of unsurpassed beauty.
May 18th: After breakfast we fly out from the local air strip to Zanzibar to the Blue Bay Resort right on the gorgeous Indian Ocean. Here we relax, and have the options of snorkeling, sailing on traditional Arab Dhow or deep sea fishing. A fabulous dinner at the resort
May 19th and 20th: A Spice Tour and an Island sight seeing tour. There will lots of time for yoga, relaxing on the beach and shopping for Swahili Chic in Stone Town. We have breakfast and dinner included at the Blue Bay Resort, and can make our own choices for lunch during these days.
May 21st: After breakfast in Zanzibar we fly back to Kilimanjaro in good time for our flights home that evening. There will be time to explore the markets and museums of Arusha.
